Hall effect lab (experiment located in 455 Physical Science Building)

1. Understand van der Pauw technique for measuring resisitivity and hall effect of any arbitrary samples. You can look up "van der Pauw" on google or find the original paper via the library website (Scifinder Scholar search)

2. Lean how to use Keithley 2400 source meter and 2000 multimeter using a standard resistor

3. You will be measuring a sample provided (FTO film). You should measure resistivity in addition to making the Hall measurements.

4. Determine the carrier concentration and carrier type (hall effect measurements): Measure the dependence of the Hall voltage on magnetic field.

5. Measure magnetoresistance of the sample
